Pumpkin Watercolor Painting

I recently attended a watercolor= art class by Patricia Boyst and Barbara Weiss at the Mansion House in City Park, Hagerstown. This painting was the result of one of their sessions. I learned how to paint wet-on-wet for hazy images and wet-on-dry for more defined images. I used 300-lb Arches paper and watercolor paints by Schmincke and Renesans Polska. I completed the project at home, touching it up in several places. The light on the top left of the pumpkin (or gourd) was actually white paper with a wash of dirty water. The background was wet-on-wet paint. You wet the paper first, then dab wet paint on it.
